White rabbit close up by Laurentea White rabbit close up by Laurentea
Makeup& Overall design: Myself
Model: Ashley
Course: Prosthetics
Application time: 3 hours
Time taken to complete: 6 weeks

Up close rotation of my White rabbit makeup to fully show the flocking done over her face and the appliance to achieve a fuzzy face. Fur was applied using electrostatic flocking machine. Also shows the bit of makeup I did on her and the pretty lashes I used. I'm really pleased with how teh sculpted eye brows photographed in the last picture

I tried putting this on facebook but it shrunk and ruined the purpose of a close up.

See, I've seen impressive effects with prosthetics but the addition of Fur in such a convincing and effective way is something I've never seen before.

This is really impressive.

=] Well thank you I really appreciate that. I myself was rather skeptical of the hair at first but in the end it came together wonderfully

This is what I feel like the new Alice movie is missing. Many times I'd rather have practical effects (make-up, costumes, stunts) than the 3-D stuff. Awesome job!

It's done to great effect! What does flocking involve exactly? Would you know where I could read more about the technique? I've not heard of it before.

well I used an electrostatic flocking machine fancy fancy but not entirely necessary it was just the fastest way. It's a way of blowing fibers on to the skin, that the best way I can think of putting it. It's usually done on the scalp to cover hair parts and dull down bald spots. If you look it up on google you should be able to find something about it. It's easier to see than to explain.

That is some wicked awesome make-up work! Do you have pictures of it in progress or being applied? I didn't see any in your gallery.

Sadly I do not have any during the process, I was way more focused on getting the makeup on time, our teacher was watching us all like a hawk lol. If anything I have pictures of the sculpt in process and some of the mask before being applied I can probably put up.

I was surprised with how the fur worked out, when my teacher first mention it I thought he meant super long fur lol

Worth every minute spent on it. The effectiveness of the hairy texture on the face really completes the image for me.

In addition - goodness me, I really love that monocle. What a great find!
